The Bethesda Urban Partnership contracts with Montgomery County to conduct marketing and events as well as maintenanceMore for downtown Bethesda. The group also operates the Bethesda Circulator, a free shuttle that provides transportation in the downtown. Popular street festivals such as Taste of Bethesda and Imagination Bethesda are all coordinated by the urban partnership, which was founded in 1994. BUP also created Bethesda Transportation Solutions, which promotes alternative transportation in the downtown, and the Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District.
