This week, a Connecticut-style pizza restaurant's upcoming opening in Silver Spring takes center plate. One meat: The wait for an authentic taste of Connecticut pizza in Montgomery County will continue for a few more weeks, Silver Spring Patch reported. Joel Mehr, one of three owners of Pete's New Haven Style Apizza, said he's now shooting for a June 1 opening for his company's fourth location. The Silver Spring location, near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Wayne Avenue, will feature the same menu offerings as the company's current locations in Columbia Heights, Friendship Heights and Clarendon, VA. The new restaurants will open in the late spring or summer in the Cabin John Shopping Center and mall.
The Cabin John Shopping Center & Mall is getting three new restaurants: Attman's Delicatessen, Benny's Bar & Grill and Gregorio's Trattoria. All three are independently owned and operated and are on track to open this spring and summer, according to a statement from the Carl M. Freeman Companies, owner and operator of the shopping center. "The community is very excited about these new additions to the center," said Rich Lipsky, vice president of commercial real estate for the Carl M. Freeman Companies. "We’re very pleased to welcome our new tenants, and feel they bring an appealing mix to Cabin John," Lipsky added. Attman's Deli could open as early as May in the Cabin John Shopping Center.
The reputedly “World Famous” Attman’s Deli in Baltimore will soon open a second home in Potomac. The Twitter-verse has been swirling with rumors that a new location of the popular Baltimore eatery will be opening soon in Potomac’s Cabin John Shopping Center. Attman’s own Twitter and Facebook accounts have confirmed the location, opening in May near the Giant Food store in the shopping center. The Cabin John Shopping Center website has the store listed as "coming soon." The deli has been a fixture of Baltimore's famous Corned Beef Row for 97 years, serving traditional New York deli fare like pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, latkes, bagels and more.
