The Barons got out to a 23-0 lead on Thursday.
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School girls volleyball team led 23-0 at Einstein when the Titans scored their first point of Thursday's match, finally allowing the team's biggest home crowd of the season an opportunity to applaud. The Barons (6-6) won in three sets (25-4, 25-14, 25-22). Yet that first Einstein point remained a pivotal moment. For the remainder of the match, both teams showed the sort of play that has come to represent them this fall as they prepare for the last few days of the regular season. The Barons fell to 4-2 with their loss to Walter Johnson on Friday.
The Walter Johnson Wildcats hosted the Barons of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School on Friday in a cross-town match-up polarizing the Bethesda/Chevy Chase/Kensington area. Walter Johnson took an early lead on a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by senior Ryan Davis, his first of four touchdowns on the night. The Barons responded with a 4-yard run for a touchdown early in the second quarter. Walter Johnson countered the B-CC score with a 24-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, giving themselves a 14-7 lead. The teams traded touchdowns before halftime arrived with the Barons hitting receiver DeAndre Cooper with a 67-yard touchdown and Wildcat Elad Covaliu running two yards for a score. The Barons improved to 4-1 on Friday.
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons met the visiting Wootton Patriots in their homecoming game on Friday. Although the score remained close early, B-CC was able to attain a two-touchdown lead late in the second quarter and never looked back. The Barons won by a final score of 26-7.
