The tools of the burglary trade can be as simple as a piece of concrete.
A piece of concrete was used by someone to smash a rear basement window of a home in the 4200 block of East-West Highway, Chevy Chase, on Monday, May 13, according to Montgomery County police. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the home. As of Tuesday morning, it was unknown what—if anything—was taken, police said. The incident occurred between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., police said.

Andre Antonio Henry was arrested for 10 second-degree burglaries in office suites in Rockville and Bethesda.
A Washington, DC man police say was responsible for a rash of office suite burglaries and thefts in Rockville and Bethesda between Jan. 28 and April 15, 2013, was arrested on May 9 in Prince George's County, according to a statement from the Montgomery County Police Department. Police say Andre Antonio Henry, 29, of Northeast Washington, DC, used a flathead screwdriver to force open the entries into the office suites that he burgled. Henry stole electronics and other items, including a credit card, which he used to make purchases, police said. Police say the man stole cash and electronics from a North Bethesda business.
Montgomery County police have released images of a man they say stole cash and electronics from a North Bethesda business, and they're asking the public for help in identifying him. The man forced open the door of a locked office in the 11100 block of Rockville Pike during the night of Jan. 28 to 29, according to a Montgomery County police news release. Police say surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect. They're asking anyone who recognizes the man to call 301-657-0112. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment in the case.

Two residential burglaries and an attempted theft from a vehicle were reported from Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase, in the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 4.

Tyran Mcelrath pleaded guilty to a Chevy Chase, DC, burglary and assault, The Northwest Current reported.
A man arrested in a Chevy Chase, DC, burglary last fall pleaded guilty to the charges on Monday, Feb. 4, The Northwest Current reported. Tyran Mcelrath—18 and of Southeast Washington, DC, WUSA9 reported—admitted "to punching the woman in the face until she lost consciousness after she 'politely' confronted him in her home on the 3500 block of McKinley Street on the morning of Nov. 6, 2012," The Current reported from a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Two suspects burglarizing a Chevy Chase house Friday morning were caught in the act by a resident awakened by the sound of the burglars, according to an email alert from the Town of Somerset, which received the information from the Montgomery County Police Department. The burglary took place at about 8:42 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, in the 4600 block of Hunt Avenue, Chevy Chase, while the home's owner was gone for a brief time. The suspects—who wore dark hooded sweatshirts and dark stocking caps, according to the police—may have entered the home through its rear door.
