Benny's Bar and Grill Opens in Cabin John

The 1940s-themed restaurant opened this past week, according to its Facebook page.

The much-anticipated opening of Benny's Bar and Grill in the Cabin John Shopping Center is here. The retro-themed restaurant announced on its Facebook page that it would be fully operational starting May 20. On May 17, the restaurant was open for dinner between 6 and 8 p.m. A discount of 25 percent was in effect that evening, as it was a staff training night. The restaurant was open for lunch only on Saturday and was closed on Sunday, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.  Going forward, the restaurant (at 7747 Tuckerman Ln., Potomac) will be open for lunch and dinner daily, with breakfast and a carry-out operation coming soon, the Facebook page added. Food, Wine & Co. Principals To Open 'Fish Taco' In Cabin John

The fast-casual, 30 seat restaurant will take over the former Lucky Garden space, The Washington Post reports.

The former Lucky Garden space in Cabin John is set to be re-incarnated as Fish Taco, a new restaurant planned by the principals of Bethesda's Food, Wine & Co., The Washington Post reported. The 30-seat, fast casual restaurant at 7945 MacArthur Boulevard will serve up salads, burritos, rice bowls, and, of course, fish tacos. Food, Wine and Co. executive chef Michael Harr told The Post the business partners considered opening a burger restaurant in the space, but went with the Fish Taco concept to cater to the area's healthy eaters. Attman's Deli, Benny's Bar & Grill and Gregorio's Trattoria Opening Soon

The new restaurants will open in the late spring or summer in the Cabin John Shopping Center and mall.

  The Cabin John Shopping Center & Mall is getting three new restaurants: Attman's Delicatessen, Benny's Bar & Grill and Gregorio's Trattoria. All three are independently owned and operated and are on track to open this spring and summer, according to a statement from the Carl M. Freeman Companies, owner and operator of the shopping center. "The community is very excited about these new additions to the center," said Rich Lipsky, vice president of commercial real estate for the Carl M. Freeman Companies. "We’re very pleased to welcome our new tenants, and feel they bring an appealing mix to Cabin John," Lipsky added. Cabin John CalTort Re-Opens on Valentine's Day with New Look

After an extensive re-model, Potomac's California Tortilla is boasting a modernized interior.

Nothing says love like burritos. And just in time for Valentine's Day, the California Tortilla in the Cabin John Shopping Center is re-opening with a brand-new look. The Potomac location has undergone an extensive re-model to upgrade the shop's interior. The "Cal-Mex" eatery now boasts a new color palette to match the cool green tones of CalTort's new logo. The re-design comes on the heels of the move and re-model of downtown Bethesda' California Tortilla, which re-opened with the updated look on Cordell Avenue last fall. Attman's Deli Plans May Opening In Potomac

“Deli is dying, supposedly, but we want to prove to the world and the Washington area that deli is alive and we’re looking forward to opening,” Marc Attman said.

  The people asked, and the Attman family answered – a second location of Baltimore’s famed Attman’s Deli will open in May at the Cabin John Shopping Center in Potomac.  According to Marc Attman, the Montgomery County location has been years in the making, after numerous Potomac locals made the hour-long trek to Baltimore for a Pastrami sandwich and to hint that a closer location would be welcomed with open arms. “People have asked us for years to come to Potomac,” he said. “They come into Baltimore for the deli, for catering, and always wish we would come out there. Bethesda Row, Cabin John Shopping Center Lead Hanukkah Celebrations

Check out what's on tap this year at the Bethesda Row Hanukkah Spectacular and the Cabin John Shopping Center menorah lighting.

Balloon menorahs, live music, hot latkes and celebrities will lead the 5th annual Bethesda Row Hanukkah show this year. Katie Balloons, balloon artist and star of the TLC series The Unpoppables, will join Rabbi Sender Geisinsky of the Chabad of Bethesda-Chevy Chase to host "Chanukah Balloonarama" at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Bethesda Lane. The event is free and open to the public and includes a balloon show with souvenirs for children, live music, hot latkes, chocolate coins and more, according to a press release. Favorite Baltimore Deli to Open Potomac Location

Attman's Deli could open as early as May in the Cabin John Shopping Center.

The reputedly “World Famous” Attman’s Deli in Baltimore will soon open a second home in Potomac. The Twitter-verse has been swirling with rumors that a new location of the popular Baltimore eatery will be opening soon in Potomac’s Cabin John Shopping Center. Attman’s own Twitter and Facebook accounts have confirmed the location, opening in May near the Giant Food store in the shopping center. The Cabin John Shopping Center website has the store listed as "coming soon." The deli has been a fixture of Baltimore's famous Corned Beef Row for 97 years, serving traditional New York deli fare like pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, latkes, bagels and more.  Tell us what you think of the move. Retro 1940s-Themed Grill Plans January Opening In Potomac

Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks. Will you dine at Potomac's newest restaurant?

  Benny Fischer promises big portions and reasonable prices when he opens Benny’s Bar and Grill later this year. The new restaurant will soon start renovating the former Popeye's space of the Cabin John Shopping Center, giving it a 1940s retro makeover and an 1800-square-foot addition to allow for seating for 200 or more guests, according to Fischer. The restaurant will honor Fischer’s late grandfather, Benny Bortnick, a presence in the DC wrestling scene in the 1940s.  The casual, sit-down eatery will culminate 30 years of experience in the restaurant and food service industries, Fischer said. Potomac's Grilled Oyster Company Opens Today for Dinner

Bethesda and Chevy Chase residents may recognize the founders from Clyde’s Restaurant Group and O’Donnell’s Sea Grill.

  Potomac’s latest seafood joint opens Sept. 5 in the Cabin John Shopping Center.  The Grilled Oyster Company will start serving dinner on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and will be open for lunch beginning Tuesday, Sept. 11, according to Bethesda Magazine. The restaurant will serve dishes such as grilled oyster, fish, crab, mussels and Old Bay fries. Washingtonian posted a tentative lunch menu on its website. Husband-and-wife team Valerie and Rick Dugan have been putting the final touches on the first solo venture in their 25 years of Washington restaurant service.
