This week is your last chance to see "Something of Splendor," an exhibit of White House decorative arts at the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery.
This week is your last chance to get up close and personal with dozens of objects—furniture, ceramics, metals, glass and textiles—from the White House's permanent collection. The objects are displayed in a special Smithsonian American Art Museum exhibition—"Something of Splendor: Decorative Arts from the White House"—which runs at the Renwick Gallery through Sunday, May 6. "This exhibition allows visitors to explore the history of the decorative arts in the nation's foremost home. ... Many of these objects were made by the most celebrated craftsmen of their time, and some have never been seen outside of the White House," according to the museum's website.
