Luxury hotel is planned for Pennsylvania Avenue landmark.
Streetsense, a Bethesda-based real estate and design firm, has been selected by Donald and Ivanka Trump to help them select restaurants and retailers for their planned 261-room luxury hotel on the site of the Old Post Office, according to a Washington Post story. Due to overwhelming interest from businesses, the Trumps decided to hire a local company to assist them. “We are getting so much pro-active interest, from some of the world’s best restaurants and most recognized luxury retailers, that we felt it was time to bring someone on board to help us consider our options,” the article quoted Ivanka as saying. Former Bethesda, Chevy Chase resident is one of the four contestants left with two shows left in the season
After Thanksgiving dinner, fans of Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" will catch the latest episode to see what two contestants will move on to the season finale. One of those contestants could be Bethesda-Chevy Chase native Steuart Martens. The contestant, described as "Fledgling Entrepreneur" runs three business: Tradewinds Specialty Imports, a wine distribution company, Taste of D.C., a food, beverage and music festival and On the Fly, an organic food vending operation. Martens, who now resides in Washington, D.C. has used "his good looks" (as another contestant put it) to persuade passersby to purchase ice cream from their cart, he's met Snapple CEO and President Larry Young after leading his time to a win, and he's modeled for a racy …

Steuart Martens, a contestant on the current season of Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" who grew up in Chevy Chase and Bethesda, is home for the holidays and spent Tuesday afternoon promoting his wines at the Chevy Chase Supermarket. Martens, who now lives in D.C. owns Tradewinds Specialty Imports, a wine distribution company. Although Martens couldn't dish on what happens in the show (he's made it to the final four), he did dish on his favorite wines and picks for Thanksgiving.
