Chevy Chase Resident Accused of Perpetrating a Fatal Hit-And-Run to Appear in D.C. Court
The defendant, accused of killing a 24-year-old while driving intoxicated, will appear before a judge today to face formal charges.
Today, a woman who is accused of killing a 24-year-old woman in a hit-and-run earlier this month near Dupont Circle will appear before the Superior Court of D.C. to undergo a preliminary hearing which will determine whether there is enough evidence to merit a trial. The defendant is charged with voluntary manslaughter for behaving "with a conscious disregard of an extreme risk of death or serious bodily injury to another," according to the court complaint filed against her. On Oct. 7 Jorida Davidson, a resident of Chevy Chase, Maryland, allegedly struck Kiela Ryan at 1:30 a.m. as she exited her vehicle on Connecticut Ave. The collision launched Ryan 21 feet through the air into the back of a parked car, according to a police report. …
