MoCo Food Trucks Park It, Online

A collection of food trucks in Montgomery County organized a collective website, www.mocofoodtrucks.com.

The grown-up lunch line is just as likely to be outside, on the corner of a busy intersection as it is inside of a strip mall restaurant. (And it's been that way for years now.) And while residents and workers in places lousy with food trucks may enjoy the variety and speed of mobile food offerings, keeping up with what's available and when can be a challenge.  A new website, www.mocofoodtrucks.com, organizes about a dozen food trucks within the county and includes a comprehensive calendar of when some of the trucks will be in which area.  Here's how the organizers describe the site: "This site will tell you the three "Ws" of food trucks: Where we are, Who we are and What we serve. Poor Joe... LOL... you are obviously either a restaurant owner who is fed up w/ food trucks taking your business, or you're just clueless. The food trucks have to go through the exact same rigorous health inspections and permits as any restaurant. Jose Andres' Food Truck Serves Free Sandwiches in Friendship Heights Wednesday

Grab some free grub from the Pepe food truck today.

Pepe, the popular food truck by celebrity chef and Bethesda resident Jose Andres, will be making a stop for lunch in Friendship Heights on Wednesday. Even better, the mobile eatery will serve free sandwiches to the first 100 people who stop by. Sandwich flavors du jour include shredded beef, eggplant, fried chicken, Spanish pulled-pork and a club. The food truck, which serves up “flautas,” or Spanish sandwiches, has been feeding hungry Washington, DC, residents since March 2012. The truck made its debut in Montgomery County last October. Prices range from $8 to $14. Chicken noodle soup will also be on the menu. Brown Bag's New Food Truck Debuts in Bethesda

Bethesda-based restaurant chainlet the Brown Bag is taking its lunch offerings to the streets. The Brown Bag's new food truck debuted on Woodmont today, offering up hot lunch options to patrons shivering in today's frigid temperatures. Each day, the truck will offer up four different grilled paninis, two soups and three salads, according to Food Truck Fiesta. The Brown Bag opened a storefront location in Bethesda in 2002 and has quickly expanded throughout the Washington, D.C. region. The chain now boasts five locations in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia, including the Bethesda location. Last year, Brown Bag took over concessions at Glen Echo Park. Food Trucks Roll in to Potomac

This is the last week of "Trucktoberfest."

Trucktoberfest returns to the Potomac Village Farmers Market today. Located at the Potomac United Methodist Church every Thursday at 2 p.m., the market has hosted a series of food trucks this month. Jumping in on the food truck craze that has rocked the DC restaurant scene, the PVFM market-master says she hopes Potomac families will look to the new offerings each Thursday for dinner time. Pepe Food Truck Serves Lunch In Bethesda

Celebrity Chef Jose Andres will park his food truck today in Bethesda

A new lunch option rolls into Bethesda today. Celebrity chef Jose Andres confirmed via Twitter that his popular food truck, “Pepe,” will park in front of Jaleo on Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda to start serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. The truck will serve Spanish sandwiches, called “falutas,” with selections including the Club Barcelona -- thinly sliced chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and shallot mayonnaise -- and the Butifarra Burger -- a Spanish pork burger with alioli and brava sauce.
