Harris Teeter, 8300 Wisconsin Development to Open in 2015

Harris Teeter will "elevate the project to its full potential and will be a great addition to the surrounding neighborhood," developers said in a Thursday announcement.

The mixed-use residential development at 8300 Wisconsin Ave. that will bring a Harris Teeter to the Woodmont Triangle is set to open in spring of 2015, developers StonebridgeCarras said Thursday in a press release. Patch broke the news Wednesday that Harris Teeter had finalized a lease with Stonebridge, though developers would not confirm that the North Carolina-based grocery chain was the project's grocery tenant. More details emerged today as Stonebridge confirmed the news in an announcement. Harris Teeter has signed on to a 20-year lease for a 50,000 square-foot store planned as a part of the nine-story, mixed-use residential and commercial building, according to the statement. Harris Teeter Confirms Plans to Open on Wisconsin Avenue

A Harris Teeter spokeswoman says the grocery chain has signed a lease for a space in the mixed-use development planned for 8300 Wisconsin Ave.

Developers have said the project will include a partially below-grade grocery store with an entrance planned for a plaza at the corner of Battery and Wisconsin avenues, but Stonebridge principal Jane Mahaffie would not confirm that the grocery tenant is Harris Teeter. "StonebridgeCarras is not prepared to announce anything related to 8300 Wisconsin," Mahaffie wrote in an email …

It's sad that the employees essentially have no choice in the matter and are being practically forced to work on a holiday where they should be home with family and friends. Harris Teeter Eyeing New Bethesda Supermarket on Wisconsin Avenue

Will a 13th grocery store in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area be welcomed?
