The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Dec. 24 and Jan. 2. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction. Not included in the police summary for Dec. 24 through Jan. 2 was the theft of handbags worth a total of about $10,000 from the Jimmy Choo store in Friendship Heights on Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to a county police report, Chevy Chase Patch reported. Three suspects stole $10,000 worth of handbags from the Jimmy Choo store in Chevy Chase, then escaped in a getaway car driven by a fourth suspect.
Three suspects stole $10,000 worth of handbags from the Jimmy Choo store in Chevy Chase at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 9, Montgomery County police reported. The suspects quickly entered the store in the Chevy Chase Collection (often referred to as the 'Rodeo Drive of the East Coast'), took the handbags and exited 10 to 15 seconds later, getting into a red, four-door sedan—driven by a fourth suspect—waiting outside the store at 5481 Wisconsin Ave., police said. The suspects escaped, but not without leaving behind a few crumbs of evidence: Three of the four suspects were caught on a surveillance video at a nearby department store shortly before the handbag heist, police added.
