Meat Lovers, Mark Your Calendars: Range Opens Dec. 18

Celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio's new restaurant Range is sure to please meat lovers and vegetarians alike with its extensive menu and open kitchen.

Gourmands and meat lovers, rejoice. Range—celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio's newest restaurant—is set to open in the newly renovated Chevy Chase Pavilion on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Range's menu is meat-centric, offering menu items such as potted foie gras, rabbit, scrapple, pork shanks and cheeks, beef marrow bones, veal heart, veal sweetbreads and whole roasted rabbit, "hunter style." Shellfish options include oysters, shrimp, crabs and lobster. Fish dishes include rockfish and black cod with barbecued hazelnuts. But the less adventurous needn't worry. The menu has some more familiar-sounding options, too, like beef steak, pork loin chop and roasted chicken with lemon, garlic and rosemary. Much of the meat is locally sourced and butchered at the …

Haha - well, there are a lot of vegetable side dishes that look absolutely delicious, so it all looks really good. I don't know if they use butter or oil in the vegetables, but those are the times when I sort of blur the lines of being vegan, anyway. Also, I don't stick to only vegan wines and beers. Adams Morgan Favorite Himalayan Heritage Opens in Bethesda

Himalayan Heritage opened in Adams Morgan in 2008, where it has enjoyed top customer ratings as a popular lunch spot, Bethesda Magazine reports.

A popular Adams Morgan restaurant opened a second location on Nov. 1 in Bethesda, serving Indian, Nepalese and Indo-Chinese cuisine, Bethesda Magazine's "Table Talk" blog reports. Himalayan Heritage opened in Adams Morgan in 2008, and has enjoyed top customer ratings as a popular lunch and dinner spot. On Nov. 1 at 5 p.m., the restaurant held a soft opening for its new location at 4925 Bethesda Ave., according to the "Table Talk" report. The restaurant planned to serve a limited menu through Sunday, Nov. 4, before unveiling the full menu at its scheduled grand opening celebration on Monday, Nov. 5. The new Rosa Mexicano restaurant in Friendship Heights is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

When Rosa Mexicano—with its festive signage and signature margaritas—opened its doors a few weeks ago, the neighborhood responded with open arms. At 5225 Wisconsin Ave., across from the south entrance to the Friendship Heights Metro station, the Chevy Chase Rosa Mexicano is the newest of three locations in the Washington, DC, area—the other two are at National Place and Penn Quarter. The company has restaurants in New York, California, Florida, Minneapolis and Atlanta, but each one has its own menu variations and interiors.
