Ferrall Dietrich talks about her new active wear store Core72, and what's trending for women's sportswear this spring.
Ferrall Dietrich is a city woman with a passion for the outdoors. The Chevy Chase resident found her passion for the outdoors after spending many years in Boulder, CO. Once she moved back to her hometown, she realized what athletic stores were missing and found the solution. Dietrich wanted to create a communal store that offers top of the line athletic brands to a local audience. One of Chevy Chase's newest businesses brings a sporty edge to Wisconsin Avenue's lineup of elite boutiques.
Chevy Chase's lineup of luxury clothing shops has a new, sporty arrival: DJ Bennett, an appointment-only, high-end sportswear boutique. Located in the newly renovated Chevy Chase Pavilion, the store, "which opened its doors in September, specializes in luxury athletic wear and equipment ranging from snowboarding goggles with built-in GPS capabilities ($450) to neoprene surf suits ($650)," The Washington Post reported. Owner Dawn Bennett, a former competitive swimmer, "has assembled a roster of sporting experts and professional athletes to help guide shoppers through the company’s inventory, which includes items from such brands as Ghurka, Louis Vuitton and Beretta," The Post added. Core 72 is perfectly located: on my dog walking route (they allow dogs in the store) and next to Starbuck's! We are so pleased to have such a unique boutique in our neighborhood. Ferrall has given us just the kind of store we need in Chevy Chase!   more ›
