Office Suite Burglary Spree Suspect Arrested

Andre Antonio Henry was arrested for 10 second-degree burglaries in office suites in Rockville and Bethesda.

A Washington, DC man police say was responsible for a rash of office suite burglaries and thefts in Rockville and Bethesda between Jan. 28 and April 15, 2013, was arrested on May 9 in Prince George's County, according to a statement from the Montgomery County Police Department. Police say Andre Antonio Henry, 29, of Northeast Washington, DC, used a flathead screwdriver to force open the entries into the office suites that he burgled. Henry stole electronics and other items, including a credit card, which he used to make purchases, police said. Residential Burglaries Hit Village Park Drive—Again

Two residential burglaries and an attempted theft from a vehicle were reported from Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase, in the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 4.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Jan. 28 and Feb. 5. Chevy Chase Crime: Theft at Whole Foods, Graffiti at Rock Creek Forest E.S.

Handbag Heist Suspects Caught on Video

Three suspects stole $10,000 worth of handbags from the Jimmy Choo store in Chevy Chase, then escaped in a getaway car driven by a fourth suspect.

Three suspects stole $10,000 worth of handbags from the Jimmy Choo store in Chevy Chase at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 9, Montgomery County police reported. The suspects quickly entered the store in the Chevy Chase Collection (often referred to as the 'Rodeo Drive of the East Coast'), took the handbags and exited 10 to 15 seconds later, getting into a red, four-door sedan—driven by a fourth suspect—waiting outside the store at 5481 Wisconsin Ave., police said. The suspects escaped, but not without leaving behind a few crumbs of evidence: Three of the four suspects were caught on a surveillance video at a nearby department store shortly before the handbag heist, police added. Police: Thieves Target Out-Going Mail Containing Checks

Montgomery County police are investigating a string of thefts involving out-going mail containing checks.

Thieves are targeting out-going mail containing checks, Montgomery County police warn. Police are investigating a string of thefts where victims have placed out-going mail in mail boxes, often containing checks to pay bills, only to have it stolen and the checks altered and cashed at local banks. The thefts began in November 2012 and have occurred throughout the county, according to a police release. “Police are recommending that citizens drop important outgoing mail at local post offices or in a U.S. Postal Service mailbox,” the release states. “Another option to consider is not using the ‘flag’ on your mailbox as an alert that there is mail waiting in your box.”  Residents can report suspicious situations or individuals by calling 9-1-1 …
