Could Le Pain Quotidien Replace Tynan in Friendship Heights?

PoPville reported that the shuttered Friendship Heights coffee and tea shop could become Le Pain Quotidien.

The former storefront of Tynan Coffee and Tea in Friendship Heights could become home to a branch of Le Pain Quotidien, Prince of Petworth reported on PoPville, citing "a good source." Tynan Coffee and Tea recently closed, Chevy Chase Patch reported. Its storefront anchored the southern arm of the plaza at The Shops at Wisconsin Place. Next door is the former storefront for Adolfo Dominguez, a clothing boutique. Patch readers made several great suggestions as to what might work well in the empty space. Suggestions included a mid-price-range restaurant, a craft beer or cocktail bar and an ice cream parlor.  What would you like to see in the old Tynan space in Friendship Heights? Tynan Closes, Leaving Two Storefronts Vacant on Wisconsin Place Plaza

The neighboring Friendship Heights storefronts that once housed Tynan Coffee and Tea and clothing boutique Adolfo Dominguez are both vacant.

Friendship Heights is down another business: Tynan Coffee and Tea, which anchored the southern arm of the plaza at The Shops at Wisconsin Place. The coffee, tea and sandwich shop was closed by last Friday. A sign hung in the window thanking Tynan customers for three years of patronage, and reminding them of Tynan's two other DC-area locations: at 1400 Irving St. NW, Washington, DC, near the Columbia Heights Metro stop, and at 1275 1st St. NW, Washington, DC, near the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro stop. The Tynan storefront is not the only Wisconsin Place plaza storefront to close recently. I will miss them. I remember when they first opened, and they had marketing experts surveying their customers. Very enthusiastic staff and management. Wonderful space. But, I always thought their coffee was just fair.   more ›
