Man Walking Robbed at Gunpoint in Chevy Chase, DC

The robber took bags and fled on foot on Chevy Chase Parkway.

A man used a handgun to rob a man walking in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Washington, DC, just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to DC's Metropolitan Police Department. The victim was walking on the sidewalk in the 3700 block of Fessenden Street NW when the alleged robber flashed a handgun and demanded the victim hand over the bags he was carrying, said Lt. Antonio Charland of the Metropolitan Police Department's Second District. With loot and gun, the suspect took off on foot. He was last seen in the 5000 block of Chevy Chase Parkway in Washington. DC police are working with police in other jurisdictions to identify and apprehend the suspect.

Gap Robbed at Knifepoint

Shortly after Friendship Heights' Cartier store was robbed, the Gap store across the street was robbed as well.

Do thieves have end-of-the-month quotas, too? Shortly after a group of robbers took brief control of the Cartier jewelry shop on Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase on Tuesday, a suspect armed with a knife robbed the Gap store across the street, at 5470 Wisconsin Ave. Police received the call about the Gap robbery at 11:51 a.m., Montgomery County police spokeswoman Angela Cruz said. The caller stated that property was taken from the store, she added. The suspect last was seen running south on Wisconsin Avenue toward the Metro, Cruz said. No injuries had been reported as of 1:45 p.m., Cruz said. The investigation is ongoing.

Police Make Arrest In Geste Wine Armed Robbery

Suspect also charged with robbing a Bethesda Sunoco station at gunpoint hours before robbing Geste, police say.

Montgomery County police have made an arrest in last Friday’s armed robbery of Geste Wine, and they’ve charged the same suspect with robbing a Bethesda Sunoco station just hours earlier. Police say that around 4:10 on the morning of June 15, a man entered the Sunoco station at 8240 Wisconsin Avenue, displayed a gun and stole cash. Later that day, around 2:17 p.m., Geste Wine on Edgemoor Lane was similarly robbed at gunpoint. The suspect had last been seen fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Following the crimes, police interviewed a witness who noticed a man acting suspiciously outside a business near the Sunoco station just before the robbery there, according to Officer Rebecca Innocenti, a police spokeswoman…

Chevy Chase Woman Charged in Gaithersburg Armed Robbery

The suspect is said to have displayed a small black handgun when she allegedly robbed a woman of her purse in Gaithersburg early Sunday morning.

A Chevy Chase woman was arrested last weekend after allegedly committing armed robbery in Gaithersburg. Ronda A. Fitzpatrick, 21, of the 9200 block of Jones Mill Road in Chevy Chase, is said to have displayed a small black handgun when she allegedly robbed a woman of her purse near the intersection of Goshen Road and Girard Street, Gaithersburg, shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, according to the Montgomery County Police Department. The victim was not injured in the robbery. Fitzpatrick fled the robbery on foot, but was found shortly afterward—not far from the scene of the robbery—entering a taxi, police said. Police arrested Fitzpatrick and 22-year-old Derwood resident Danylo Demidenko, who watched the robbery from a short distance…

D.C. Police Searching for Suspects Involved in Armed Robberies in Friendship Heights Area

Police are investigating a series of robberies that are similar in nature.

Detectives with the Metropolitan Police in Washington, D.C. are searching for two suspects in connection to a series of robberies that have happened in the past week, according to Fox Five News. The suspects involved in the four incidents were equipped with handguns. In one case a victim was shot. While one of the crimes has occurred in the Glover Park area of the District, three others have occurred blocks from the Maryland border in Friendship Heights. Three of the four incidents have taken place in the early morning hours but the latest incident took place around 10:15 p.m. in Friendship Heights in front of the victim's home, Fox reported.
