Police were called to Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School on Thursday in the middle of the school's annual Color Day festivities, because many students had arrived at school intoxicated. The Montgomery County Police's summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Oct. 3 and 11 lists four attempted residential burglaries and two successful burglaries in Chevy Chase. Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Joshua P. Starr has recommended boundary changes for several schools, including Bethesda Elementary School, North Chevy Chase Elementary School, Chevy Chase Elementary School and Rosemary Hills Primary School.
