The movement to push back public high school start times in Montgomery County has strong support in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area, according to a study analyzing the Start School Later Montgomery County petition. Of the 10,223 (as of Jan. 5) signers to a petition to start public high schools in Montgomery County one hour later, 25 percent—more than 2,500 signers—were from the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area, according to findings published this week by the Lloyd Society, a nonprofit research center. Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School enrolls just over 1,800 students, according to the school's online profile.
