Most Frequently Stolen Vehicles—Is Yours on the List?

Dodges, Fords, Hondas and Toyotas top Maryland, DC and nationwide lists of the top 10 most frequently stolen vehicles.

Is your car potentially hot? If it's a Dodge, Ford, Honda or Toyota, it could be. The National Insurance Crime Bureau recently released a report naming the top 10 vehicles most frequently stolen in each state in 2011. Thefts from Vehicles: Arrests Made, Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Three teens and one young adult were arrested early last Thursday morning, Montgomery County police reported.

Early last Thursday morning, Montgomery County police arrested three teens and one young adult in connection with a string of thefts from autos in recent weeks in Bethesda and Chevy Chase neighborhoods. The arrests have also led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles, police said. According to police, 40 incidents involving 45 vehicles have been reported since June 1 in neighborhoods south of River Road between Goldsboro Road and Little Falls Parkway. All of the thefts happened overnight, according to the report, and items were stolen from unlocked vehicles. In the early morning hours of June 11, a homeowner noticed three men wearing black clothing and looking into cars with flashlights along Bryn Mawr Avenue, police said. The men fled, …

Montgomery County police are reporting an uptick in thefts from autos in Bethesda and Chevy Chase neighborhoods in recent weeks. Two recent car thefts have also highlighted the need for residents to lock their vehicles, police said. According to police, 40 incidents involving 45 vehicles have been reported since June 1 in neighborhoods south of River Road between Goldsboro Road and Little Falls Parkway. All the thefts happened overnight, according to the report, and items were stolen from unlocked vehicles.
