On the article Advocates Form Coalition To Push For Purple Line Funds

ReplyThe so called Purple Line is nothing more than a gift to the developers who contribute to the politicans that support them. Remember that the "purple Line" campaign was started by an advertising agency who would not disclose the name of their client. So much for grass roots support for this atrocity. If there is so much demand for the trolley line why are the Metro Buses traveling between Silver Spring and Bethesda empty most of the time.

ReplyThe politicians in Montgomery County want a higher gas tax to reward the developers for their support in getting them elected. Like OMalley, road and bridge repairs are not the priority, the trolley line is the priority because that is what the developers expect from the politicians.

ReplyIf the Metro Board had to walk up or down these escaalators a few times, they would quickly solve the problem. If they used the Metro, they would see the prroblems that those of us who have used the Metro put up with.

ReplyThank you for the listing of fireworks locations to celebrate the 4th; we had just discussed where there might be some fireworks. You shd tell people to leave their Pets at home; many are terrified and run away and the heat also can hurt them if families stay too long in heat inorder get to a fireworks location early so as to get good parking.

On the article Report: Sidewalk Possible Along Purple Line In Wisconsin Avenue Tunnel

23,000 pedestrians crossing Wisconsin Avenue including small children at one intersection. Sounds like a receipe for disaster. Too bad that O'Malley and Madden can't be held personnally responsible for the impending tragedy. Dump the trolley line and leave the trail alone. Save the taxpayer Two Billion dollars.

ReplyCudos to our county government and to our state administration. Virginia has two schools in the top 10 nationally, and thanks to our elected officials we no longer have any in the top 10 and are lucky to have any in the top 100. We watch taxes, jobs, money residents and now education leave the state for other states.

On the article Tree Cutting Prompts Pushback for Pepco

9:40 am on Tuesday, May 8, 2012
The county is responsible for tree maintanace and removal on theesaement, not PEPCO. We waited for over two years for the County to remove several large dead branches from a tree in our front yard. Private tree removal firms would not touch it because it is a "county" tree. Call the County and complain, because if it falls and damages your property, then they will tell you that you did not report it.

What do you think the "planners" would tell the press? Try asking the people, especially those who stand to have the "developers gift" intrude into their backyards. Try having the state officials tell you that you should not have buit your house where it is located. Come to Elm Street Park on the 25th and ask the people there how they feel about the trolley line. Where was the press when the PR firms were talking up the "Purple Line" and refusing to identify their clients. Where was the press when the developers were packing the county and local governments with pro-trolley line politicians? The trolley line does nothing to reduce the commuters. No one has said what the annual cost will be to all of us will be to operate this boondoggle.
