This Massachusetts native developed her passion for community news when she moved to Washington, DC, in 2004.
She has freelanced for The Current Newspapers, a weekly community newspaper in Washington, DC, and has written for the Capital News Service, a news wire service run by the University of Maryland, as an environment reporter.
She also has a master’s degree in architectural history from the University of Virginia, and she received her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College in 2001.
When not reporting, Laura enjoys running, reading, exploring museums, testing out new bread recipes, watching old movies, playing the piano and listening to classical music.

The watchman at 5337 Western Avenue, Friendship Heights Metro stop lacks the required meekness for wake up calls, jostles businessman in opposition to lying on the bench at 5:30 am and disturbes the piece in violation of Title 10, Maryland Criminal Law, Section 201...arrest and prosecution pending. The victim claims $1,000,000 damages against the building management.
