Food Donations Accepted in Martin's Additions on MLK Jr. Day

Want to give back to the community on Monday, Jan. 20, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, but don't have much time? Then think about driving past the Brookville Market, 7027 Brookville Rd., Chevy Chase, and dropping off a few items of nonperishable goods (or cash) to benefit Montgomery County's Manna Food Center. For the sixth year in a row, the Village of Martin's Additions will be collecting shelf-stable goods for Manna and its clients; all items donated on Monday will be driven out to the central food bank the following day and cash contributions will be converted into food before the month is over. Despite our county's relative wealth, the need for food assistance for many families remains great. So if you're in the vicinity of our neighborhood, please stop by with your donations. Thank you!
