Viva Verdi!

The Cathedral Choral Society, under the direction of Music Director J. Reilly Lewis, will present Viva Verdi! on Sunday, October 20 at 4:00pm at the Washington National Cathedral.  The performance is offered in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy's 'Year of Italian Culture', a 2013 initiative to strengthen links between Italy and the United States.

The Concert will feature Jennifer Check, soprano; Anna Maria Chiuri, mezzo-soprano; Rolando Sanz, tenor and Paolo Pecchioli, bass.  Since 1942, Verdi's 'Requiem' has been the Cathedral Choral Society's signature work. Written in memory of Italian poet and novelist Alessandro Manzoni, Verdi premiered his 'Requiem' in 1874.  Viva Verdi! will open with Hymn of the Nations, which includes the National Anthems of England, France and Italy.

Tickets start at $31.
